Sonoma Valley High School administration responded to an alleged threat on the afternoon of Dec. 10.
The campus was immediately locked down, the sheriff and district staff were notified and the district was able to safely and quickly resolve the issue and students resumed their classwork, according to a news release.
"Due to confidentiality laws, the district cannot provide specific details regarding the student in question; however, any student involved in a school threat is subject to removal from the school campus and expulsion," the news release stated.
"The SVHS administration, in conjunction with the district office and law enforcement will continue to ensure all measures are taken to provide a safe campus."
